When a proto-oncogene or a tumor suppressor gene is mutated, normal cells become cancer cells that are not growing in control. When cancer cells begin to divide indefinitely, they must draw enough nutrients, so normal cells will develop poorly or starve directly.

At the same time, growing tumors (cancer cell groups) also squeeze normal cell survival space. When normal cells are squeezed nowhere to survive, they will not be able to perform normal organ functions, which will lead to the decline of human function.

The defective gene itself is more susceptible to mutation than normal cells. As in the previous article, Angelina Jolie's BRCA1 makes her breast cancer risk as high as 87%. Then, factors such as living environment, eating habits, and mental state will further increase the chance of mutation.
